Dear friends,
we're writing to inform you about important updates to our Terms of Service that will take effect on January 15, 2026: these changes are designed to ensure the long-term sustainability of our Free Plan while protecting all our customers' interests.
What's Changing?
We've refined our Terms of Service to address a growing challenge: abuse of our Free Plan through the registration of multiple accounts by the same organization. While the vast majority of our users play by the rules, we've seen an increase in instances where organizations create multiple Free Plan accounts to circumvent the limitations we've carefully designed to keep our service sustainable and accessible to everyone.
The core change is simple: organizations may maintain only one Free Plan account at any given time. If your organization needs access for multiple team members, you can either add additional users to your existing Free Plan account (up to the plan's user limit) or upgrade to a paid subscription plan that supports more users and offers enhanced features.
Why This Matters
Our Free Plan has always been our way of giving back to the community - offering powerful email verification tools at no cost to individuals and small teams. To keep this offering viable, we need to ensure it's used as intended: as a genuine free tier for those getting started, not as a loophole to avoid fair pricing.
These updated Terms allow us to:
- Detect and address instances where multiple Free Plan accounts belong to the same organization
- Automatically limit daily free credits across such accounts to ensure the combined usage doesn't exceed what a single account receives
- In some cases, terminate secondary accounts that violate this policy
If you're using Verifalia legitimately - whether on our Free Plan or a paid plan - these changes won't negatively affect you: we're committed to ensuring our enforcement is fair and transparent.
Your Purchased Credit Packs Are Protected
We want to be absolutely clear about one important point: your purchased Credit Packs are safe. The updated Terms distinguish between the Free Plan subscription (which we may limit or withdraw in cases of fraud, abuse, or Terms violations) and Credit Packs, which are paid purchases you've made in good faith.
If you've purchased Credit Packs and are using our service appropriately, your investment is protected. Credit Pack forfeiture only occurs in cases of demonstrated abuse, and even then, we provide a review mechanism through our support team.
FAQs
I have multiple employees who need to verify emails. Do we each need separate accounts?
No. You should maintain a single account and add your team members as users within that account. Our Free Plan supports multiple users, and our paid plans offer even greater flexibility for growing teams. This approach ensures your organization stays compliant with our Terms while giving everyone the access they need.
What if I purchased Credit Packs on my Free Plan account - are they at risk?
Your Credit Packs are protected as long as you're using our service in accordance with our Terms. The changes we're making specifically address the Free Plan subscription itself, not your paid purchases. We've taken care to ensure our Terms clearly separate these two aspects of our service.
Can I still use the Free Plan?
Absolutely. The Free Plan remains available and continues to offer daily free email verification credits at no charge. As long as your organization maintains only one Free Plan account and uses our service appropriately, you can continue to enjoy these benefits.
What You Need to Do
For most users: nothing. Under our Terms (Section 1.5), your continued use of our Services after January 15, 2026, constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you want to review the changes in detail, you can read the full updated Terms of Service and updated Data Processing Addendum documents.
The key change appears in the definition of our Free Plan and Section 5.7, which outlines the specific restrictions on Free Plan accounts and our enforcement approach.
